Two Thousand And Eight

This year is one i will never forget. it wasnt the best but it wasnt the worst. it was filled with moments that changed me, moments that made me cry with laughter and just made me cry. this is a look back of my year that was.

JANUARY
started with maddie in rosebud. it was i think our last sleepover before she left. we spent New Years Day at the beach and took one of my favourite photos. on the 15th we said goodbye to maddie for the next 12 months. and i dont really remember the rest of the holidays.

FEBRUARY
well school was back. and my form was one of the best. school this year was pretty good, i made some new friends and the work wasnt that bad either. Steph also took me to the Crew for the first time. and Nat and i had one of the best sleepovers ever. there was also the swimming carnival - which was heaps of fun :)

MARCH
was a quiet month i think. id cut back on a few classes because of my sickness. i did spend Easter at the beach with the family. which was a big milestone in the countdown to maddie's return.

APRIL
was filled with some awesome trips to the city :). In one day steph and i met Mark Watson, Josh Thomas and Dave from the Umbie Bumbies. Nat and i also saw the Umbie Bumbies as well as the Megahorns and the English Gents. and had one of the best nights ever.

MAY
there were some trips to the footy and city again. Nat and i ventured out on a very cold day to have fun in the city. we went to Retrostar and saw amazing things in KFC and the man holding the vacuum cleaner at North Melbourne.

JUNE
well first there was seeing and meeting Stealing O'neal. who were awesome. then of course it was the birthday party :). it was probablly the best party ever. and i got to talk to maddie on sykpe. and it was a night i will never forget. There was also Maria's party.

JULY
well this was where we hit the halfway point. and that was huge. we also went to the city. again. and we went down the graffiti covered lane ways. On the holidays my aunty took me to a spa place in Dalesford which was fantastic. and nat and i saw the Dark Knight and fell in love wt Heath Ledger - "Is that a bazooka?" XD

AUGUST
not much happened in this month. but nat and i did watch the Blues Brothers and monty python movies. oh and of course Breaking Dawn came out. and im proud to say i took just 7 hours to finish it.

SEPTEMBER
went on a school excursion and took some more city trips. it was also maddies birthday, which was another milestone. and we had fun at the McKenzie's grand final party and enjoyed more holidays.

OCTOBER
well there was Will's confirmation and school was starting to wrap up. last bits of work had to be handed in and exam study was starting.

NOVEMBER
was a busy month. we got to see tripod and met gatesy :) and then there was Cup Day and the cardboard cup. which was a great success. there was exams and work experience as well. there was a heap of birthday parties, including Nat's, Bill's, Hanada's and Amala's.

DECEMBER
started with the end of school and the beginning of 9 weeks of freedom. and the hols have been pretty awesome. we did lots of fun christmas shopping, started doing some fun cooking, met the chasers. There was Will's graduation. There was chritmas and all the family gatherings.

overall theres been a lot this year. ive found new things that i love and im a but sad to see 2008 go, but i can not wait fot 2009

All The Small (And Bigger) Things

i stole this idea of Matt.
TEN THINGS THAT I HATE

10.
Characters like Bella Swan. Don't get me wrong, i love twilight, the stories are fantastic and whilst twilight and breaking dawn are ok, new moon and eclipse made me want to throw the book. all this self-sacrificing bullshit and how she wants both edward and jacob. and then with other female main characters they get all hyped up on being independent etc. get over yourself. theres nothing wrong with females being independent, i think its very important, but theres a big difference between someone running your life and just simply wanting to help.

9.
People who are late. All the time. there is nothing (or almost nothing) more rude then people who are habitually late. everyone has a phone, who knows, people are on it all the time, for godsake call! instead of leaving the person feeling as though they are not good enough for you.

8.
Homophobics. *sighs* aren't we past all this yet? there's nothing wrong with being gay. it's just another form of racism really. i'm sure there's some thing that says, that no matter what sex you are, what race, colour or religion everyone is equal. people who are homophobic obviously have some other problem going on. gay people are just as smart, just as normal as the rest of us. some people use the excuse, "Oh its just not natural. it goes againt nature." well actually, scientists believe that people are born gay. that there's something in our brain that makes us that way. so technically, being gay is just like having a disability. people cant help it, and theres nothing wrong with it. it doesnt make them any less smart or any more good or any more bad. this is like a disability because of people who are homophobic.

7.
schools with out proper heating and cooling. john brumby can go jump. seriously. he thinks we are forgotten or we dont win votes. well with more and more people going to public schools instead dont you think it might be time to fix or rebuild most of the public schools? you know like at strathmore how they stagger classes, because theyre are to many kids. or how we have computers from 8 years ago. but mostly when i did a sac this year and it was 39C inside the classroom. portables are not energy efficient at all. and until they govt do their work (thats if they actually do anything) in a freezing classroom in winter and a sweltering room in summer. well they all get stuffed.

6.
when people drop things. its one thing i really dont like. i hate the noise. it's things like the remote and saucepans. that crash. idk. i dont mind loud music all noisy malls, but at home i like quiet.

5.
freaky dreams. some people find them funny and amusing. i find them disturbing. they just freak me out, in fact i dont really like dreams at that much overall. i prefer and find i sleep better, if i just dont remember my dreams. and it sucks if you have a weird dream and then wake up in the middle of the night and then spend the next couple of hours doing nothing but think how disturbing that was.

4.
how that sometimes it feels better to be ignorant than to be informed. i used to watch the news a lot, now i get the headlines and the weather. im not want to know about how the economy is shit, people are losing their jobs, melbourne's water is up shit creek, its so god damn depressing.

3.
how the blonde person is always the dumb one or the bitch. or both. like for gods sake, get a life.

2.
the end of the rating season. get stuffed. just because im on holidays doesnt mean i stop watching tv. maybe a couple of weeks over xmas, but besides that. and if people are away chances are they do have a tv.

1.
when technology fucks up. esp the computer and the internet. why cant it just go super fast and be super easy all the time? i can not stand it when the internet goes slow.

Climbing The Stairway To Kevin

well it was off to another city trip yesterday wt steph, nat and alex. but this was more than just a day hanging in the city, we were meeting the CHASERS :D! they were doing a book signing for there 2008 annual at dymocks, and somehow steph found out about it, and so thats how it started. nat came over to my house, and by some force we were wearing almost exactly the same thing! we walked (rather quickly) to Melville Rd tram, where we met the other two. we caught the tram to royal park and after a fairly long wait we got the train to flinders st. after a 5 minute walk we got to Dymocks where we all bought the book - the little rudd book (hence the title). we didnt have to wait long for the chasers, Andrew and Craig, plus one of the other writers. we all got our books signed and we got hugs. when we were having our photo taken this guy was talking to Andrew and he, wasnt all there, and he telling andrew about his book that he wants to get published and what happens in thr book, and Andrew just did the act interested and nod thing. we then headed off to get maccas and ate it on the lawn outside the church, where we took much interest in the emos doing a drug deal wt some freak. after a quick trip to retrostar we went home. a very successful day :)

atm im currently in full holiday mode and planning maddie's homecoming. i am the queen of planning. and if mum had let me plan christmas she would not be stressing over how much needs to be done. i dont have much to write about, mostly im just being very lazy and loving it. the freedom from work and worries feels great :)

Schools Out For Summer

paradise it is. as of today i have 62 days of freedom :). yesterday was the last day of skool. and besides reading the novels for next yr, i have NO HOMEWORK FOR 2 MONTHS! well i didnt fail all of my exams, in fact i didnt fail any. im very much looking forward to next year. so what am i going to do? well i have a list, it includes things like get my learners, try and get a job and other things like watch every episode of Criminal Minds and stay awake for 24 hours. ive also happily undertaken the task of planning Maddie's welcome home party :) so far its been a blast. its getting so close now. i remember when i was excited that there was only 200 days to go. i remember when there was 22 weeks to go, now theres almost just 6 weeks. so bring on the sleep ins, the sleepovers, the parties, and the not-doing-anythings. i seriously cant believe that its the summer holidays.

"schools out for summer,
schools out forever.
schools been blown to pieces

no more pencils,
no more books,
no more teachers dirty looks.

out for summer
out til fall
we might not go back at all

schools out forever
schools out for summer
schools out with fever
schools out completely" - Alice Cooper
